10-42 K9 Inc. is actively building a professional and mission-driven leadership team to help guide the future of our organization.
As we continue developing our programs, partnerships, and long-term infrastructure, we are currently seeking qualified individuals to fill several vacant Board of Directors and advisory leadership positions.
We are specifically looking for professionals who bring real-world experience, operational credibility, leadership ability, and a genuine passion for working dogs and service-oriented missions.
Our organization is focused on:
• Giving former military and law enforcement working dogs a second mission
• Supporting professional Search & Rescue placement programs
• Promoting responsible working dog standards
• Building long-term operational credibility and sustainability
• Supporting communities during times of need and disaster

As 10-42 K9 continues to grow, we are actively seeking the right individual to serve in an advisory and leadership role within our organization as a Law Enforcement K9 Professional.
We are not simply looking for “someone who worked a dog.”
We are looking for someone with real operational credibility and leadership experience within the working dog community.
Ideal candidates may include:
✔️ Active or retired Law Enforcement K9 Supervisors
✔️ USPCA and/or NAPWDA backgrounds
✔️ Trainers, evaluators, or program managers
✔️ Experience building or overseeing K9 units
✔️ Strong understanding of working dog standards, selection, and deployment
This role would help support:
• Intake and evaluation of incoming dogs
• Placement screening and recommendations
• Policy and training standards
• Agency and community credibility
• Long-term operational development of our program
10-42 K9 is building something different.
Our mission is centered around giving former working dogs a second mission through structured evaluation, retraining, and placement into Search & Rescue and other service-oriented operational roles.
We are looking for respected professionals who believe in preserving the integrity, standards, and future of the working dog community.
Is this you? Or do you know someone who would be a strong fit for this role?

As our organization continues to grow, 10-42 K9 is actively seeking a respected and operationally experienced Search & Rescue K9 Professional to serve in a leadership and advisory role within our organization.
We are not looking for hobbyists.
We are looking for individuals with real-world operational experience in the Search & Rescue community who understand the realities of deployment, standards, certifications, and mission readiness.
Ideal candidates may include:
✔️ FEMA USAR K9 handlers or evaluators
✔️ Wilderness Search & Rescue professionals
✔️ Disaster response personnel
✔️ Operational K9 deployment backgrounds
✔️ Trainers, evaluators, or SAR leadership personnel
This role would help support:
• Development of operational standards
• Deployment readiness and mission planning
• Placement evaluations and handler screening
• Certification guidance and training standards
• Long-term strategic development of our SAR mission
10-42 K9 exists to give former working dogs a second mission through structured evaluation, retraining, and placement into operational service roles — particularly Search & Rescue.
As we continue building this program, maintaining professional standards and operational credibility is critically important to us.
We want leaders who understand the difference between training for social media… and training for the real world.
Is this you?
Or do you know someone who would be a strong fit for this role?
We are not simply looking for names to place on a website.
We are building a leadership team committed to:
✔️ Professionalism
✔️ Integrity
✔️ Operational credibility
✔️ Strategic growth
✔️ Responsible governance
✔️ Long-term mission success
As a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status currently pending approval, all Board of Directors positions are voluntary and unpaid in nature.
Board participation currently consists primarily of quarterly Zoom meetings, organizational guidance, strategic planning, and professional collaboration as we continue building the organization.
Serving on the board provides the opportunity to:
• Help shape a growing national-level working dog initiative
• Support retired and transitioning working dogs
• Build relationships within the working dog and emergency services communities
• Contribute professional expertise to a mission-driven organization
• Help establish long-term operational and ethical standards
If you believe you may be a strong fit for one of our vacant board or advisory positions, we would love to hear from you.
